GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION
The Domain Jean GLEIZES is situated in region Languedoc Roussillon to OUVEILLAN (11) between Narbonne and Béziers in the limit the South of Minervois and the limit the North of the department of the Aude. It is the village put on a hill that is followed to the North by the channel(canal) of noon.

HISTORY
It is a very former (ancient) Domain because it exists since about 600 years. It did not still produce wines but Mister Jean GLEIZES was the first one in 1939 to put some wine in bottle on the municipality (Commune). During XXth century, the vineyard knew changes important as tries (essays) of palissage, drivings in pergolae as well as wide plantations . Side wine making, the first tubs of carbonic maceration were practised in the department by Mister Jean GLEIZES. At the end of the century, the vines of the Inhabitant of Bordeaux make their appearance in the vineyard with the first one Merlot planted in 1974. Proud of its history (story), the Domain Jean Gleizes in crossed the centuries and has just lived a big change. Pierre-Philippe CALLEGARIN son of wine grower Saint-Emilionnais, buys it in 2005 so that it becomes again the reference that it was in the environment (middle) of XX eme siécle. After 13 years of work in the wine as Cellar master in cooperative cellar then on the Castle of Agassac ( Médoc wine), he is then a winemaker-buyer in the trade house Barton & Guestier until 2005.
The vineyard is in perfect state and the operational cellar today to produce excellent wines, which begin to receive new rewards.

IN THE VINEYARD
A restructuring of the plots of land and the resumption of a family vineyard, the Domain counts 53 ha today among which 48 ha planted in vines. The vineyard consists of 7 islands from 4 to 10 ha, what allows us to have a safety against the risks of frost and several types of very interesting soils to obtain profiles of different wines. What also allows to plant every vine on its soil of preference.
After a mattering work these last 3 years, the vineyard of the Domain Jean GLEIZES is now structured. The last plantations saw arrived two new vines on the domain:
· Colombard
· Marselan

After this important restructuring of the Domain, the average age of the vineyard is today of 17 years, with all the same plots of land of Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot and Carignan of an average of age about 35 years old.

The Domain possesses at present 3 753 hl of cuverie. Half of the tubs concrete are equipped with an epoxy cover with a subterranean tub today to optimize the wine makings of the whites and the pink (rosé) wines. The cellar is equipped with a group of cold and with 2 horizontal presses. The surface of the cellar is 500 m2 with 2 levels. A system of stake under nitrogen allows us to have a storage of wines under inert gas.

Redone in nine to welcome the private individuals and the professionals, the Vault of the Domain Jean GLEIZES is a warm place or you can sample with pleasure all the range of wines of the Domain.
